Wine of the Week: Creation Sauvignon Blanc 2023

sip

I celebrated a friend’s 40th birthday at a beautiful sculpture garden in Stellenbosch. It was hot. Like, HOT hot. And the Creation Sauvignon Blanc was the most perfectly refreshing wine for the afternoon!

Creation is an estate in Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, meaning “Heaven and Earth” – an aptly named corner of the winelands. The estate has a comprehensive sustainability scheme, like using compost and cover crops to promote soil biodiversity. Creation also earned WWF Conservation Champion status a couple years ago. Being good to the land makes wine better!

The vineyards are in a cool climate, and the elevation and close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean mean more crisp, acidic, and refreshing wines.

Let’s get into the wine!

Looks like: pale yellow glass of happiness

Smells like: papaya picked fresh on a tropical island

Tastes like: a juicy passion fruit sprinkled with sea salt. The balance of tropical fruit, refreshing acidity and minerality is just so elegant.

For your next hot sunny day, give this lovely Sauvignon Blanc a try! Let me know how much you love it <3
