WineX is the premier annual wine festival in Johannesburg! Visitors can look forward to three nights of wine tastings and interactions with award-winning winemakers as the best of the Cape comes to Jozi. The festival aims to create new stories and great memories with like-minded wine enthusiasts.

Franschhoek Cap Classique Festival
With over 20 local producers, the festival showcases the Franschhoek valley’s exceptional Cap Classiques (South Africa’s signature champagne style sparkling wine). For two full days, the historic Franschhoek town comes alive with delicious bubbly, live music and a vibrant atmosphere. Only an hour outside of Cape Town and well worth the drive!

ESSENCE Festival of Culture Food & Wine
Since its 1995 debut, the ESSENCE Festival of Culture has helped shape, define, and celebrate black music and culture. Known as an unofficial Auntie linkup, ESSENCE Fest also has Food & Wine programming for the gastronomic girlies. I went last year and had a TIME.
Aspen Food & Wine Classic
Arguably the most revered culinary festival in the US, this culinary event has been a must-visit experience for four decades. Aspen consists of three incredible days of cooking demonstrations, wine & spirit tastings, and panel discussions led by world-class chefs and beverage experts.
Some of my favorite mentors host a “Black on Black” dinner at Hotel Jerome celebrating diverse trailblazers in the wine industry. If you’re lucky enough to snag a ticket, it is an incredible event!
Healdsburg Wine and Food Experience
This weekend-long festival shines a light on the farmers, growers, winemakers, and chefs who support and sustain Sonoma County’s rich agricultural legacy. Festival-goers can meet, sip, and party with some of the region’s most revered winemakers and farmers. A portion of the festival’s ticket sales and sponsorships go toward local organizations shaping the region’s farming industry including Future Farmers of America (Healdsburg Chapter) and Farm to Pantry, which helps to ensure the legacy of the area’s agricultural heritage and bolster the community.
