Wine of the Week: 2023 Roseblood Rosé

The Perfect Provence Rosé

The Roseblood Rosé was the last wine I had in Martha’s Vineyard this summer, and I think it tasted that much sweeter and felt even more special. My Uncle took me and Mom to lunch by the marina, and the views made me so sad to leave...but the wine made me feel better.

The Roseblood is from Provence, the oldest wine region in France (!) and one of my favorite regions for rosé. Winemaking in Provence dates back to 600 BC. They know what they’re doing over there.

Rose from Provence is known for being “dry” (as in not sweet, not wet. All wine is wet), aromatic (like perfume), pale pink in color, with notes of melon and sea salt.

Château d’Estoublon, the producer of this particular gem, has been in the game since 1489. Again, they know what they’re doing over there.

I would describe this wine as elegant, yet playful. Two things I aspire to be in this life. I’m hoping wine will help.

The rundown:

Looks like – Perfectly pale pink, like your favorite blush. Very demure.

Smells like – Strawberry and melon. It’s basically a fruit salad! Drink guilt-free!

Tastes like – the aforementioned fruit salad but...wait for it...you’re eating it on the beach. The salty seawater is in the air, and in your mouth, in the best way.

Thank you Roseblood for making my transition away from the paradise that is Martha’s Vineyard more bearable. If you see this one in the shop, give it a shot, and let me know what you think!
