The Perfect Provence Rosé in Kenya

sip

I found myself on Lamu, a gorgeous island off the coast of Kenya with rich arab indian influences, no cars, and pristine culture. The temperature was in the high 80s, the water looked a bright turquoise, the sand felt soft and warm – the closest I've been to paradise, maybe ever. Lunch at the Majlis Hotel's waterfront restaurant had serious Mykonos vibes (minus the oontz oontz techno). The salmon avocado salad practically begged for a glass of rosé, and let me tell you, "The Studio" rose to the occasion.

This gem of a rosé, Studio by Miraval, hails from Provence, France but pairs beautifully with coastlines worldwide. A blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle, and Tibouren grapes, all grown near the Mediterranean Sea, it's practically designed for a hot beach day. When you open this, a little voice whispers in your ear to call off work and find the nearest ocean.

I took a quick dip in the warm water before lunch arrived. When I got back, that glass of rosé was waiting – like a long-lost friend with a refreshing hug.

Here's the breakdown:

·      Looks like: Pale salmon in color, like garden party sundresses and chinos without being pretentious.

·      Smells like: Freshly picked flowers -- fragrant, and inviting.

·      Tastes like: a yummy baked raspberry tart. Sweetness balanced by a touch of tartness, all wrapped in a subtle buttery crust.

From the French Mediterranean to the Kenyan Indian Ocean coast, this rosé transcends borders. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to unwind with their toes in the sand and the sound of the waves rolling in. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
