Woods Restaurant at Lambert’s Cove Inn

Mom, my bestie Haywood, and I ate here our last night in MV for the season – and we saved the best for last. Woods focuses on local, traceable ingredients, which I love, and showcasing Earth Mother’s best for that season. Every item on the menu tells you the farm where it was grown/raised/produced/caught, and they are mostly local, or regional at most. The respect for those who tend to the animal and plant life we consume is palpable, and it shows in the food beautifully. They have a 4-course summer prix fixe menu that was a great deal.

My favorite dish was the lobster puff (Mom ordered it but thankfully, she shared) which was everything you love about a lobster roll PLUS the added benefit of puff pastry?! Brilliant. I also loved the clam chowder, which I ordered because it was cold outside and I needed something to warm me from within. Incredibly rich and flavorful, and filling. I only finished half of it. My sea bass and took the rest for lunch the next day. Even though I didn’t finish dinner, I obviously saved room for dessert – the last slide of cherry pie for the night. It was fate. The universe smiled at me.

I will definitely be making another trip out to the Woods next summer. If you give it a try, come back and tell me how much you love it (trust me, you will!)
